If your a non-union Western New York construction worker and you don't believe you're getting the Prevailing Wage Rate on the project you're working on, there's a quick and easy way to find out - right from the comfort of your own home. To verify the Prevailing Wage Rate for your specific craft and what you should be recieving in terms of wages, benefits and pension contribution, the Niagara County Building Trades directs you to the New York State Labor Department's Bureau of Public Works, which can be accessed on the world wide web at www.labor.state.ny.us or the NYS DOL page: http://wpp.labor.state.ny.us/wpp

 
 

For Your Information,
New York State law mandates contractors post the Prevailing Wage Schedule on your jobsite and provide copies of the schedule to all subcontractors.

How To Find Your Prevailing Wage

Go to: www.labor.state.ny.us then click on the page links in progression:

* Select either "Working in New York" or "Business in New York"
* Prevailing Wage/Public Work
* Prevailing Wage Schedules/Updates
* On the "Obtaining Prevailing Wage Schedules/Updates" page, click on the link, Prevailing Wage Schedules/Updates
* On the "Prevailing Wage Schedules/Updates page, select either, "General Construction Rates" or "Residential Construction Rates"
* Select the desired county (All of WNY is listed)
* Click on your specific Trade to find our your wage/benefits package.
